Key Idea:

Change. It’s not always fun.

Some people do not like change. But, being a Christ-follower requires change. These days, the idea of necessary change is not popular. There are many who want to claim Christianity without having to actually live a Christ-like life.

It’s not enough to just claim to believe or say that you’re a Christian. There has to be a change. There should be evidence in your life that you truly follow Jesus. You have to be transformed.

Key Verse:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Sunday July 11 Correcting Our Vision

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! [Matthew 7:3-5 NIV]

Paul wrote this letter Philippians from prison

His future was up in the air. His life was hanging in the balance. He's waiting to stand trial before Caesar the king who was the most powerful man in the known world

He has no idea what's going to happen to him.

Is he going to live or is he going to die?

Paul has no clue what his future holds, but Paul does know Him who holds his future.

May 23 Philippians 4:10-12

I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
